Delicious Italian food is based on just a few ingredients, chosen for their seasonal splendor and cooked to simplistic perfection. Try to find it outside of Nonna's home kitchen. I wish you luck and am here to tell you that in my lifetime, there have been just a handful of those trusted to make the perfect al dente pasta with the sauce of my choice. Gran, Mom, Baby Bro et moi could do it. Cousin Evelyn qualified. Mario Batali mastered the skill. Ralph from the little hole-in-the-wall Mom 'n' Pop's in Florida was a pro. And then there's Chef at The ORIGINAL Valentino, here in Surfside Beach.

 Don't be fooled by its tacky exterior. Just go and mangia. In less than a week, we've dined there twice. It's a gem.

Why cook while on vacay when the soul food of our choice is awaiting us, right around the corner??!!

To Note: Yes, you've heard about this, before. This is our third January visit to the area and our fourth vacation in total. Consistency prevails. Same chef. Same family owners. Same delicious food!
