Joe and I love to share space as we read, simultaneously enjoying the warmth of a fire and a cup of java. He is often the recipient of nasty glares, as he interrupts my train of thought with a tidbit that simply cannot wait until I glance up from my book (currently BLEAK HOUSE by Dickens...a wonderful immersion into the Victorian world).
Today's 6:30 a.m. tidbit was well received, though. It was the third time in two days that "Vegas" appeared by written or spoken word. "Thanks, Joe; I'm blogging Vegas today!" Signs (ND).This said, you have to know that until Neil finds permanent residence for his show there (a very unlikely occurrence), it is not high on my list of "must-visit places".
"First Vegas" occurred yesterday when I came across the wonderful story of SiegfriedAndRoy and their farewell appearance. I felt compelled to share what I perceived as hope in the story with Steven, whom I've mentioned before.
E-mail this morning brought "Second Vegas", with news of a friend traveling there for business this week.
"Third Vegas" came by way of Joe's current read, "THE SURVIVORS CLUB" by Ben Sherwood. Did you know that Sun City affords you the best opportunity to survive a heart attack? Of course, we hope you don't ever need this info, but if you're in Vegas, be aware: you might be eating, drinking, partying, smoking and stressing more than you would elsewhere. This increases your chances of taxing your heart. The good news is that security cameras and guards will find you quickly, the casinos are loaded with defibrillators, and within the brief time frame allotted to salvation, your chances are improved. How's that for Surviving The Life (ND)?
