It took a number of years for this unusual variety of Clematis to take off in our garden, due to my lack of understanding about its growing habits. This baby does not like to be pruned back for the winter. Its preference is to grow and bloom on the woody vines left from a previous season. Ah, I finally got it right and find great pleasure in the reward! Pale lavender and white flowers are poking through the most amazing places, as it vines up our fence and takes center stage today.
