Ah, the excitement, when Gav spotted the first tent caterpillar of the season. He executed a capture, followed by the securing of a home... then, he proceeded to feed his newly named "Hairy" some nutritious leaves. You can imagine how thrilled I was to see the plant wrecker back on the green scene. However, there is one less in our yard, 'cause Hairy, his house and chow went home with our little adventurer, all the way to the other side of town.
Meanwhile, Big Sis has recently (today!) decided that she's going to be a nurse, when she's all grown up. Nothing like digging out Grandpa's first aid kit and practicing on Grandma's leg, newly annihilated by a bloodthirsty mosquito. I was cleansed, iodined, iced, bandaged and healed; it took no time at all... the girl is a natural. Jeesh; I hope it wasn't a West Nile carrier.
As for me? Bugs leave me squeamish; but Grandkids? They find a thrill around every corner - happy to share with all. Just gotta luv them; and we sure do!
