Neil Diamond 'n' Some Dreams

The other day, I mentioned Neil's new album, to be released in November. I removed that post in order to correct it, with regard to the selections. It's an album of cover songs; so, we've got that straightened out. A lot of fans have expressed annoyance at the fact that new tunes haven't been penned. Puh-lease. He's been publicly delivering the goods since 1966; I've certainly enjoyed my lion's share of entertainment. If the man wants to sing a little Leonard Cohen or Macca, so be it. Don't like it? Don't buy it. At almost seventy and presumably far from needing a dollar, I figure he's at the helm of choice, even at the risk of being rendered "Captain Of A Shipwreck" (sorry, Fellow Fans... couldn't resist and said in jest). Thinking back to what "fans" did to Ricky Nelson, my childhood heartthrob, I remember his MSG comeback and the resulting song, "Garden Party". Yep... "You see, you can't please ev'ryone, so you got to please yourself." RN

On another semi-Neil note, please be sure to tune in to (link)  "Stand Up To Cancer"  tonight. He'll be performing, along with many other dedicated celebrities; 100% of proceeds go to a cause that most can identify with. Is there a family out there who has not dealt in some way with this insidious disease?

Now, on a lighter note, fans find ND's new album cover similar to this old Memorex ad. Ya think?
