The Cape is mobbed, more so than we've seen it in years. The northeast has had the most incredible summer, with a run of weather comparable to days of old. Thus, drought crowds. You'd never know it by my pictures, though; am I correct? Thanks to JFK for signing the (link) bill that served to protect forty miles of exquisite beach, with its marshes and dunes, home to endless varieties of wildlife. Over-sand permits allow us to access the wildest of the wild, leaving the maddening crowds behind, only to be dealt with in the coming and going. Our own air pump further allows us to avoid long lines for tending to tires, thus providing access to even more remote areas for our enjoyment.
Then there are our cousins, with whom we are extremely beach-compatible. We seek no amusement beyond what nature has to offer. Give each of us a sand chair for comfort and let us be. Oh, and a thermos of late-afternoon coffee shall never be refused. I hope you're reading, Bon.
