A Blur Of Beauty

Right behind our Wellfleet cottage, Joe discovered marshy waterways that lead to the bay. Later on, we explored Marconi Beach, with its amazing Stairway To The Sea. Newcomb Hollow was worthy of a several-hour stay, as we watched a young boy fishing... well, sort of. In reality, he was intrigued by casting his line and did so about a hundred times, in the time we observed him. Adorable. He's already discovered his soothing outlet.

Wellfleet's Ocean Drive is incredible. We explored an upside-down house for sale, right on the National Seashore. Houses built prior to President Kennedy's brilliant "save" are grandfathered in for future ownership, as long as structures never exceed pre-existing foundations. Along the Drive, we "fell" into no-name beaches, with dunes that seemingly dropped at ninety degrees, to the sea.
No visit to the Cape would be complete without a stop at Longnook, where incredibly happy hours were spent with Brian and Christian, when we were a young family. It never changes... a place to rely on as untouched, except by Mother Nature, as she constantly redefines the coastline and the dunes. It was late afternoon, and the beach was in the shadows... time to find the sunset.
