Hook 'n' Needles


Yesterday was a real, old-fashioned snow day. Blustery, cold and white, white, white -
as in "whiteout". Not at all conducive to building a Frosty. So... 

After a busy morning of doing chores, we found a movie on demand… "Dallas Buyers Club", starring Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto. These two incredible actors got their body weights down to what seems like less than zero in order to play real-life individuals diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. MM's character, Ron Woodroof, began a movement back in the 1980's, championing the rights of all patients to acquire helpful medications not yet sanctioned by the FDA. A tough movie to watch, though clearly Oscar is on the horizon... of this we're sure. What amazing performances, touching on several still difficult-to-address social and medical issues. We were hooked.

I needed to multi-task and thus polished off a pair of crocheted leg warmers for my favorite boots. Also completed is a knitted infinity scarf with a crocheted flower.

During a break from our busy schedules :-), Joe enjoyed tomato soup while I went shopping in Belize. Yep, that's right - I said, "Belize." There I purchased some gorgeous summer-weight yarn for another project. Okay, okay… so it was online and through Etsy that I traveled. Big deal! Here's to…
