Smoothie Season

There is no shame in using frozen fruits for a smoothie. They often have the best nutritional value, having been packaged at peak ripeness. Also, they are always available.  We have a long wait till summer fruits grace our farmers market. Sam's has great varieties for fabulous prices. 

For a blender-made drink that is truly smooth, avoid sinewy fruits. 

Today's was made with frozen peaches, mangoes and strawberries, a banana, yogurt and bottled water. Anything goes.
