It was gorgeous today, but cold with strong winds. Cold 40 degrees as compared to cold 4 degrees, at home. Some would call it a heat wave. :-) Nonetheless, it wasn't a good day for a beach hike, so we went exploring. We'd heard about (link) Market Commons, a city within a city, built on an old airstrip and including everything from a lounge-chair movie experience to casual or fine dining to endless upscale stores and all the way to housing, if never leaving its confines is desired. It's wild. Lunch at Gordon Biersch Brewery was a great experience, though shopping so soon after Christmas held no appeal. The pristine streets and facades reminded me of Disneyworld.
Very interesting, especially under a cerulean sky.

Just a short distance down the pike, we saw a group of young girls learning to horseback ride. Another fabulous location with endless corrals and training tracks, all tucked in between this waterway and that. Not too tough to take, when southern weather turns chilly.
Tomorrow promises to be warm again, so we hope to visit Brookgreen Gardens. I'm psyched to finally see this place that we've heard non-stop kudos about.
