A Different Kind Of Recipe

Have you tried to capture Christmas lights, after waiting till it's very dark and they are shining brightly? I recently learned that the best recipe for success in this arena is to shoot at sunset... right after the sun goes down, when just enough light remains to create a gorgeous sky that highlights those holiday beams. No flash necessary.

 I'm new to this concept, so please have patience. We can learn together. I've gotta say, though, that today was warm and cloudy with not a trace of blue in the sky. Yet at dusk, just look at that unaltered Sky Blue
