Conquering Cape Clouds

The remnants of Isaac are touching upon the East coast, spreading a few clouds and showers along the way. What I really think, though, is that G-d gives the Cape an occasional rainy day to help the economy, by forcing beach-goers to explore and spend. We obliged by hitting Cuffy's for five... did I say five?... C-C sweatshirts, our traditional souvenirs for the Grands. Afterwards, we did a little cruising through Harwich and Chatham.
There is an active Coast Guard station at the Chatham Lighthouse. The "dangerous bars" served by those lights are not of the drinking variety. Ginormous sandbars stretch into the sea, creating an incredible sand and water montage.

We took a lunch break at The Chatham Squire, a still-hoppin' place, post season. Their perfectly seasoned lobster roll wins the prize over last night's variety. Joe was excited about a side of lobster bisque.
We hope to visit again.
On to Shore Road, where the economy thrives. Lord-y! The oceanside estates have appropriate names such as Joie de Vivre. The views are to die for.
The sky seemed to be clearing, so we moseyed along to Eastham for a cup of Dunkin', with the intention of enjoying it at Marconi. Just as we arrived at the beach, the sun broke through. Bliss.

The show was on, with Surf City alive and well. Swells were higher than we've seen, thus far. Lifeguards are finished for the season, so it's swim and surf at your own risk... a scary thought, in light of a conversation I had with a photographer who'd shot from a plane over the Atlantic, just yesterday. He said he'd witnessed hundreds of great whites in the coastal waters. This nonsense of five or ten miles of beach being closed is laughable. Are the sharks reading waterway signs that say,
"Humans Ahead - Swim No Further"?

It's really supposed to rain, tomorrow. We might have to skip the beach, altogether. But Dennis has a multiplex theater with stadium seating and digital sound. We just might catch Tommy Lee and Meryl... unless, of course, we can once again conquer the clouds.
