Pittsburgh Part One - Tête-à-tête

We were off last Friday for our first-time visit to Pittsburgh and what was clearly the Event Of The Season, Nicole's wedding.

We arrived in time to rendezvous with our favorite cousins at a wonderful rehearsal dinner. It was an honor to be invited to join in the preliminary festivities. We had a blast, catching up with the T's and meeting some of Ryan's family.
Dale, always the historian, steered us towards Mt. Washington on Saturday morning, so that we could get a birds-eye view of the city. Wow! Definitely a good choice for a few photo ops of quite an interesting and very mountainous place.
On the rise, pun intended, from a deep and damaging recession, Pittsburgh is enhanced by brick and stone houses that are absolutely intriguing. While not ostentatious from our view, they are certainly most interesting, possessing oodles of character and great gardens.
We hope to return for a visit to the newlyweds and some deeper exploration of those hilly points of view.
