like me, a combination thereof, can a few extra blessings hurt?  According to the linked  NY TIMES article, many Brooklyn Gentiles are accepting all the help they can acquire. I'm with them, for sure.

Dear friend (link) Millie was fortunate enough 

to have once shared an audience with Pope John Paul II, when visiting Rome with her priest son. Upon her return, she bestowed blessed-blessings upon our home. Her gift is treasured to this day. Now, I'm thinking that we clearly need a mezuzah. It's only right.
